Room creation

It is required to players to check their presence on Discord when the organizers will tag them. This shall happen before 20.15, so that organizers can arrange the groups and the rooms for the night, assigning hosts and streamers to groups.

Grouping

Stages 1-7

In the first 7 stages, groups will be equal. Participants will be divided in groups according to how many players registered for the game day. There are no constraints, so everyone can play with everyone. If less than 11 players, there will be a single group.

Stages 8-21

From there, GC will be the constraint to decide groups. In fact, players will be divided in groups according to the general classification in that moment. Again, if less than 11 players, there will be a single group.

The ranking for groups division will be the actual ranking considering EVERY STAGE, differently from the final ranking with the 4 worse results scrapped.

DB and rider choice

Database will be ladder. Every stage must be played with 6 riders, but since it’s inline competition, riders can be changed across the stages.

Competition Format

Every stage of 2023 Tour de France will be played in inline mode. At the end of every stage, players will cumulate their points in order to establish the general classification of the tournament.

Points in the first rider column will be assigned to the first rider for each player that crosses the line, excluding IA and any other riders of the players, with an exception: players with a rider not being in the group of the rider corresponding to the number of the players in room or in a group before that, won’t score any point. This is also valid for bonuses: players not scoring points won't be considered as gapped, so bonus points won't be calculated starting from them.

Important: at the end of the tournament, the 4 worst results for each player will be scrapped from the general classification.

Bonuses

Road stages will be divided in three categories:

CATEGORY 1: flat stages, easy hill stages

CATEGORY 2: hard hill stages, medium mountain stages

CATEGORY 3: mountain stages

CATEGORY ITT: ITT

So the division according to Tour de France stages will be:

Category 1: Amorebieta-Etxano > Bayonne, Dax > Nogaro, Mont-de-Marsan > Bordeaux,

Libourne > Limoges, Clermont-Ferrand > Moulins, Moûtiers > Bourg-en-Bresse,

Moirans-en-Montagne > Poligny, Paris La Défense > Paris Champs-Élysées

Category 2: Bilbao > Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz > Saint-Sébastian, Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat >

Puy de Dôme, Vulcania > Issoire, Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne > Grand Colombier,

Roanne > Belleville-en-Beaujolais

Category 3: Pau > Laruns, Tarbes > Cauterets-Cambasque, Annemasse > Morzine, Les

Gets - Saint-Gervais, Saint-Gervais > Courchevel, Belfort > Le

Markstein

Category ITT: Passy > Combloux ITT

ADDED: Bonuses will be given according to time gaps. The bonus points will be determined based on the time gap between the group of the human rider that represent 50% of people in the room + 1. (ex. group of 4th if there are 6 people or 7, group of 5th for 8 or 9) and only people ahead of this group with receive bonuses. In situations where there is a time gap between all riders eligible for bonuses, the seconds taken during this gap are deducted from the calculation, and the remaining points are allocated only to those who were part of this time gap.

A single players will also not be allowed to score more than 200 pts bonus per stage

The category, though, influences the points given through a multiplier.

Category 1 stages will give 5x the bonuses. If you get 20 seconds, you’ll get 100 pts. This is specific for flat stages, since it’s more difficult to get alone at the finish.

Category 2 stages will give 3x bonuses. If you get 20 seconds, you’ll get 60 pts.

Category 3 and ITT stages will give 2x bonuses. If you get 20 seconds, you get 40 pts.

Tie-breakers

1)    Major amount of stages won

2)    Major amount of second places

3)    Major amount of third places

4)    Major amount of first places on HC climbs

5)    Major amount of first places at intermediate sprints

6)    Coin toss.
