You will find in the game two cdb files. The full one contents palmares from 2004 to 2013, the other (the light) contents palmares for the years 2010 to 2013. So the second one is obviously faster. The choice is for you !

Hello to everybody !

The FCDS will, this year, be decomposed into two versions : a "light" version, and a full one.

The light versio will contain between 125 et 145 teams (yes, this is light for us !). It will be released between the 15th and the 25th of march. All teams will have HD graphs, a main part will have 2014 shirts, and we hope to have the 3 GT route completed. There will be many beautiful things, but i can't detail them all for the moment.

And for the full version, it will contain more than 180 teams and all the UCI calendar, et should be one of the most complete database of all PCM times. I can't give a release date, it will depend of the help i will receive, but i really hope to finish it before the end of april.

FCD Spain home background preview

Hello to everybody !

It's a very sad news that i bring to you today. But let me explain all the situation, it may be not finished yet.

You know all what whas the role of daizenshu on the two first FCD projects.

He was doing all the teams and riders part, and we used to be a good trinomial, Punky, him and me. But he decided to leave the PCM world, and he stopped since october. I still wanted to continue this wonderful project, but i knew i would have to find him a substitute. And i found ImthebestCoach, who accepted to be this man. Well known man in the french PCM community, he accepted my offer, and all was good at this moment. But since the 19th of february, no sign of him. He didn't connect on Skype or on the PCM forums where i usually saw him. As i know all hazards that a life can give, i let him three weeks to reappear, until last week end. Then i tried to contact him on landline, Skype, facebook or e-mail, but no answer at all. But still here, no answer at all. So i must resign myself that ImthebestCoach is not part of the FCDS project anymore. I can't blame it, we all have unexpected events in our lives, and i'm sure that he was too busy to care about PCM. If you need to blame someone, it must be me, i should have been more careful to be ready to deal with any situation.

So the fact is here. But as you all know it, i promised to release this db between the 15th and the 30th of march. As you'd expect, without him, i can't do anything. Nothing. I don't know enough continental cycling to be able to do this central part of the FCDS. I'm only good to do graphs, compile files and tinker the cdb file... I can't do it without him, as i couldn't do it without daizenshu.

I was personally in time to offer you this new FCDS. Only a few things to do left, i was mainly waiting for the works of Punky and ImthebestCoach, and the goal i assign myself was achievable. It means that a lot of things have been done. Here is a recap :

-Graphs of more than 130 teams were ready, all in HD, of which more than 80% of 2014 season

-A sponsor pack of around 350 sponsors had been done, with only HD graphs, and many recent adds

-UCI calendar had been updated to 2014. Only were missing some of routes of some .2 stages, but it is quite fast to do. It can be done in one day

-All files of the 2013 FCDS that could be used have been taken. It means backgroungs, sponsorkits, faces, stages, flags...

-A big work have been made and is still being made by Leon40 to update backgrounds, and add many of it.

-Riders pictures have been made by DBreality, and in really good quality.

-Variant Packs was ready at 95%, only were missing some races. I was hoping to upload them this week end to gain time.

There is only one chance left to allow the FCDS to be released. A last chance. I need someone to continue ImthebestCoach's work to make what he was doing. I need someone who can give his time to make this project live. I need someone to help me bring to everyone the wonderful db we wanted to do. I know that this guy may not come. It's nearly finished, but there is a last hope to enter, because i think a such end is not cool. Here is what the volunteer should make if only there is one. Of course, it's possible to have several people if i receive more than one volunteer, i will of course relate those volunteers. All of the work will be realised basing you on the complete FCD db, which is up to date at september 2013, so that the work will be a bit less big i hope. I specify that it's only the work that has to be done for the Light version, we'll take on the full version later. To be volunteer for the light doesn't force you to do the full !

-Update teams and rosters to 2014 for a list of teams that i will give

-Add the new pros, delete the retired

-Update the stats from september 2013 to march 2014 (WT is done, which will remove a big and difficult part of the work)

-Update size and weights, a big research work have been done on that

-Add the pictures made by DB reality. I can do that if you need

-Basing you on the team list, give me the list of races that would be useless in the light version.

Other tasks can be done of course, but there are only optionnal. This list is only the minimum, but it's already very big. It's a personal investment really important, so if you want to do it, be careful to check if you have the time to do it.

But of course, you would not be alone in this task. I would help you as much as i can, but i also have some work to do on other parts of the db. You can of course base yourself on the work being made on the FCD 13, but i will give you also two db files ImthebestCoach gave me at the beginning of january. I hope it could be useful. One of those files is an accdb file that you can open with Microsoft Office Access, and who is, according to ImthebestCoach, really useful and practical.

Here is the list of what i think is necessary to do this job :

-Knowledge of the continental cycling (knowing the 60 most important teams is i think a minimum, you can learn the rest if you check the results)

-Many free time. One hour by day is a minimum i think. Be careful you have the time before beeing volunteer

-Knowledge of Fast Editor, Full Editor or Lachi's Editor. I can help you on this point

-Knowledge of the cdb file. Especially the DYN_Cyclist, DYN_Team and DYN_Sponsor. I can help you also on this point.

-You have to speak french or english, the only languages that i understand well.

If you want to be volunteer, send me a pm on whatever the forum on which you see this message. You have until sunday, 4 pm, Paris time, to do so. If i don't receive any pm to this date, i will close definitely this project.

Here you go, you know all the situation now. I really hope this project can continue. It's one of the bests achievements of my life, and see it finish badly like that is not cool at all. It's up to you now.

So my call has been heard !

I received this morning three volunteers. NairoQuintana01, errero and michieldm, i thank you all three so much !

I eventually choosed michieldm, who bring me all guarantees that i was asking for, and who appeared very motivated.

For all of you who don't know him, he's belgian, and has made the StanosCrossBase in 2012

Thanks to him, the project will now continue ! The show must go on !

No release date for the moment so, we'll give more news when the situation will be clearer.

First of all, what is left to do.

-In graphics, around 30 transferts. You can find the list here ( http://pcmfrance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=203783#p203783 ), if you wish to help :

-All is done at the level of playable races. The only thing to do in races are cdx for U23 races.

-Niels still has to do palmares for HC races. FCDS will be the first 2014 db with palmares for HC and WT races. .1 and .2 races' palmares will be done in a further version. But those races already contain palmares from 2004 to 2012. In the next days, i also have to add ranking lines so that the palmares can appear when you click on the name of a rider.

-We have taken equipments from 2014 DB of PCM Daily (thanks to them). We are still thinking of changing menus images to avoid a basic "copy-past" of their work

-3/4 of fantasy sponsor preferencies have been done. After that i will do real sponsors.

-doudou has began the update of track mode, and DBreality has began also track cyclists pictures.

-I still have to do some updates in some db tables, but not much.

-Michiel still has to do stats for the riders he added (neo-pros mainly)

-He also needs to add in the db the pictures of the riders, but those are already done by DBreality

This list only concern things to do, if a thing has not been told, it's surely because it's already done.

Be careful : as the deadline was a bit too short, we still need to work on some points. Stats are not optimal for smaller teams, so you can help us here : http://pcmfrance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=3797&p=210320#p210320 . Three minishirts (Meridiana, 5 Hour Energy and Leopard Development Team) are those of 2013 while the shirts in game are 2014 ones. Some accessories are missing for some continental teams. Also some "rankings" are missing for few riders, and palmares is still in construction (but it's already really big. You will find into your game two cdb files. One (the full) contains palmares from 2004 to 2013, the other (the Light), contains palmares from 2010 to 2013. Of course, the first one is a bit slower into the game. The choice is for you !

Be careful : as the deadline was a bit too short, we still need to work on some points. Stats are not optimal for smaller teams, so you can help us here : http://pcmfrance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=3797&p=210320#p210320 . Three minishirts (Meridiana, 5 Hour Energy and Leopard Development Team) are those of 2013 while the shirts in game are 2014 ones. Some accessories are missing for some continental teams. Also some "rankings" are missing for few riders, and palmares is still in construction (but it's already really big. Hello, I've some problems...After installing the pack, instead of the teams, come out purple pictures, and many stages are Plouay-Plouay...I something wrong?
